Ramadan Reflections, Day Twenty-three: Dad

My father always used to tell me, ‘you have a bright and brilliant mind – you can do anything you want!’. He always saw in me what I am beginning to see in myself now.

My mother gave me the wings to fly to the heights my father always told me I could reach. They knew that I had the strength to go for my dreams well before I believed it. The joy I experience every day pursuing my passion is shared with them.

Happy Father’s Day to my father and all fathers, whether they’re here with us or not. And, because my father wouldn’t be the father he is without my mother (he would be the first to admit that), here’s to my incredible mother, too. I am blessed to have you.
